Born to Torn and Donna Moore, American Saddlebed horse trainers, Melissa Moore grew up with Melinda, her older sister. Her parents divorced when she was only six-years-old, and Melissa started to pursue acting, participating in every school production there was. She also did some modeling, due to her tall figure.
Eventually, throughout her studies of business and fashion design at Brooks College in Long Beach, California, Melissa auditioned for Scream Dream (1989), a low-budget horror film directed by Donald Farmer. Soon, she was getting more offers in Hollywood, such as Caged Fury (1989), Vampire Cop (1989, another Donald Farmer production), The Invisible Maniac (1990), and finally landed roles in Sorority House Massacre and Hard to Die, both in 1990, becoming very fond of co-stars Gail Harris and Peter Spellos.
Many people helped Melissa out in sculpting her into a talented actress, gaining her a scream queen following. An obvious knock-out, Melissa has gained film credits in other films as well, such as Fatal Skies (1989), Repossessed (1990), Vice Academy 2 (1990), The Alien Within (1990), The Killing Zone (1990), Samurai Cop (1990), Soul Mates (1991), Into the Sun (1991), The Other Woman (1991), Angel Fist (1991), Angel Fist (1991), Mad at the Moon (1991), Davinci's War (1992), Consenting Adults (1992), Kick and Fury (1992), Stormswept (1993), Bikini Drive-In (1995), Face of Evil (1996, TV Movie), and Evil Lives (2000).
