Location Shots: Before & After
My friend Devon Whitehead recently took a trip to some of the locations used in SPM in Los Angeles, including Victoria Ave. where Diane is "stalked" by John Minor, along with the houses where Trish, Valerie, and Mr. Contant lived in the movie.

Devon: My girlfriend Haley and I have just returned from the SPM1 house! We first found victoria ave. and took pictures of the street and sidewalk where John sneaks up on Diane (we recreated the scene in our pictures). It was very cool, pretty much the same except for the white railing seen in the film is no longer there and there is some fresher pavement.

Devon: The house is really down that street and to the left on Mountain View. The house was awesome, completely the same! Same with Valerie's house next door and Mr. Contant's. We rang the door bell to see who lived there now and an old couple answered the door and were nice as can be.
They'd lived there for 40 years and were present when the movie was being filmed. They knew all about the movie but were very surprised to see us, they didn't think anyone was a fan of the film. They let us take pictures of the house, the garage and the pool! They said they only allowed the crew to use the living room and the bedroom (which was their son's room and for the movie they painted it pink without telling them!) but as you know they used the entire house. The husband told us he was very surprised to see that in the movie they put a body in their fridge haha.
The pool was the same, really cool to see and the door in the back where Jeff died.
Valerie and Courtney's house, we didnt push our luck with but we did get pictures of it (the front porch where Neil is stabbed and the gate to the side of it).
We didn't get to go inside the houses, the old couple were very nice and kind enough to let us go to the back of their house to see the pool, but they said the inside was completley different but i did peek haha. It was different because if you look in the movie you cannot see the kitchen from the front door but now (as i peeked and saw) you can see straight inside it. The island and overhang over the island in the kitchen looks the same though. They said they filmed a couple movies there and some MTV show that they couldnt think of the name of it then.
We went back there today to see if we could find the school, and we could not! We went to five different schools around that area but none looked like the one used in the film (rounded gym top, etc.). We even went to Venice High School (which is the street that you take to get to the SPM houses), they filmed Grease there and a bunch of other stuff but it didn't look like the one in SPM.

Devon: If you look on the border of Mr Contant's roof in Night Visitor it's white just like it is today, and in SPM it was brown, so i guess sometime in between 82-89 they painted it.

Coach Jana's house
This was the missing link until I got in touch with Bruce Teitelbaum, who was a production assistant on SPM and also served as the still photographer on Sorority House Massacre. He lived in the house at the time of filming, which is located at: 849 N. Sierra Bonita Ave. in West Hollywood, CA. Thanks to Bruce for the info!

If you take the opposite direction of Victoria Ave. that Diane took in SPM, you will eventually end up on Mountain View Avenue...the homes of Valerie, Trish, and Mr. Contant! (second Google Maps location shown...but you unfortunately cannot view much of the side that their houses are on!). You will have to move around on the maps to get a better view of the locations, especially the second one. The third street view is where Coach Jana's house is located.
