SCENE V
Interior: Jackie's house. Her parents
are heading dow the stairs with suitcases in their
hands. Jackie is waiting for them
by the front door.
MOM:
Make sure you're careful, Jackie.
JACKIE:
I know.
DAD:
Listen, honey. If you hear anything
strange tonight, I want you
to just get out of the house. You can
go and visit Morgan across
the street.
JACKIE:
(sarcastically)
That'll happen.
MOM:
Oh, come on, honey. Morgan would love
to have you over.
JACKIE:
I'm sure he would.
DAD:
Don't forget, Jackie. No parties at
all this weekend. You can
invite Susie over to watch TV or something,
but that's all.
And especially, no boys.
JACKIE:
I got it. You gave me this same speech
last week when you guys
first told me you were going away.
DAD:
I know we did. But the last time we
left you alone for the weekend...
MOM:
Ler's not rehash what happened again,
dear. Alright, we have to go now.
JACKIE:
Okay then. Bye.
Mr. and Mrs. Cassidy kiss their daughter
and give a quick hug.
DAD:
Bye, sweetheart.
They exit the house, Jackie is waving
from the doorway. She closes the door
after she sees they're gone from
view and breathes a sigh of relief.
