SCENE XV
Susie and Jaimie are standing outside of Morgan's house, out of breath
and pounding on his door.  Jaimie keeps nervously looking over her
shoulder.
SUSIE:
(frantically, while pounding)
Morgan!  Open the door!
Please!  You have to help us!
Morgan!  Morgan!
JAIMIE:
Maybe he's not home.
SUSIE:
He is home.
JAIMIE:
How do you know?
SUSIE:
Because he never steps out
of the house to go anywhere!
He's just not answering the
goddamn door!
She begins to pound again.
JAIMIE:
Susie, we can't stand out here all
night!  God knows where Jackie is
right now!
SUSIE:
So what are we supposed to do?
JAIMIE:
Christ, I don't know.  Try the door.
Is it unlocked?
Susie jiggles the knob and the door swings open.
SUSIE:
Oh, shit.  Get in.  Quick.
They run inside the house, slamming and locking
the door behind him.  Susie hears a noise coming
from the living room.
SUSIE:
Do you hear that?
JAIMIE:
Yeah.  The TV's on.
SUSIE:
See, I told you he's home.  The
idiot probably fell asleep on the
couch.  I'll wake him up and you
call the police.
JAIMIE:
Okay.
Jaimie walks in the opposite direction of the
living room to the kitchen and picks up the
phone.  Susie walks toward Morgan.  He is
seated on a chair in front of the TV, his back
is to her.
SUSIE:
(edging toward)
Morgan?  Wake up.  Morgan?
Susie turns the chair around and screams.  Morgan's
dead body stars back at her through an eyeless face.
Where his eyes used to be were two bloody holes a
drill had been shoved through.
SUSIE:
Oh, God!  NO!  SOMEBODY HELP!
Susie covers her mouth in shock as she screams in terror.
In the kitchen, Jaimie stays on the phone, wondering what
is happening in the other room.
JAMIE:
(screaming into the phone)
I am not kidding!  This isn't a
joke!  Can you please send
somebody to 392 Edgewood?
This is an emergency!
OFFICER:
(voice coming out of the phone)
What seems to be the trouble, miss?
JAIMIE:
Look, I can't talk about it
right now.  Please send
somebody over!  She's gonna
kill us!
OFFICER:
She's going to kill you?
JAIMIE:
YES!
OFFICER:
Who's going to kill you?
JAIMIE:
Jackie Cassidy!
OFFICER:
Jackie Cassidy?  Uh-huh.  Sure.
Yeah, we'll have somebody out there
right away.
The officer laughs.
OFFICER:
We don't have time to play
along with cranks, sweetie.
Have a good night.
JAIMIE:
Listen to me, goddamn you!
She's crazy!  Get somebody
out here now!
Susie runs in.
SUSIE:
Morgan's dead!
JAIMIE:
Oh, God!  Please send the police!
OFFICER:
Alright, but if you girls are
bullshittin', you're gonna be in
a lot of trouble.  Do you understand?
JAIMIE:
Yes!  Just get over here!
Please!
Jaimie slams down the phone.
SUSIE:
Are they coming?
JAIMIE:
Yeah, we have to go back
to Jackie's.
SUSIE:
Are you out of your mind?  Why?
JAIMIE:
Because that's where I told them to come!
SUSIE:
Ever thought about sending them here?
JAIMIE:
Well, I guess I wasn't thinking straight!
Now, come on!  We have to get out of here!
Jaimie grabs Susie's arm and pulls her out the back door.  They
run across the street and as soon as they are about reach the porch,
Jackie pops out of the shadows.  The drill is already spinning.
JACKIE:
Now I got ya!  Die, bitch!
She swings the drill, slicing open Susie's stomach.  She
falls to grass, clutching it.  Blood is spilling all over
her.  Jaimie is screaming in fear.
SUSIE:
Run, Jaimie!
Susie's head tilts to the side and she dies.
JACKIE:
(imitating Susie)
Run, Jaimie!  Go on.  Run!  Run!
Jaimie runs into the house and slams the door closed.  She leans up
against it, trying to catch her breath.  Suddenly, the drill comes through
the door, only a few inches from her face.  Jaimie screams and backs away
from the door, as Jackie makes one hole after the other.  She sees the knife
Jackie had used earlier to kill Dan laying next to his dead body.  She picks it
up, just as Jackie's hand is coming through one of the holes.  Jaimie raises
the knife high into the air and brings the blade down on Jackie's hand.  She
screams from the other side of the door.  Jaimie raises the knife again and again,
stabbing at Jackie's bloody hand.  She looks at the floor to see two fingers laying
there.  She opens the door and leaps outside onto Jackie, just as the sirens start
blaring as they make their way down the street.  Jackie drops the drill,
as Jaimie is on top of her and stabbing over and over.
JAIMIE:
Die!  Die, you bitch!  DIE!  DIE!
The police cars stop in front of the house.  Two officers get out of
one of the cars, their guns pointing at Jaimie.
OFFICER #1:
Drop the weapon!  Put it down on the ground!
Jaimie stops and stands up, her clothes filled with blood.
JAIMIE:
(laughing)
It's over, right?  It's over!
It's over!
The officers walk towards her, slowly.
OFFICER #1:
Yes it is, Miss.  Now, why don't
you come with us?
JAIMIE:
(happily)
Okay!
She runs over to the car and gets in.
OFFICER #1:
I don't know what the hell went on in that
house, but it messed her up bad.
OFFICER #2:
Tell me about it.  You take her in and
get her story.  Me and the rest of the
guys will look around.
OFFICER #1:
Gotcha.
He turns to get in the car, but the second
officer stops him.
OFFICER #2:
Watch that girl.  You don't
know what she's capable of.
Officer #1 drives away with Jaimie as the rest of the officers
begin to enter the house.  Jackie's eyes open and she watches
them walk past her, a smile on her face.
Fade to black.
